Sam Knott was a former goldminer
and the subject of the famous
poster for Carlton Ale.
The Warburton Hotel (Sam Knott
Hotel) has high local
significance as one of the
districts oldest remaining
hotels.
The hotel is heritage listed, and located on an earlier site in Old Warburton from
about 1864 and on its present
site from 1885.
Many stories surround the hotel
and linger, like the ghost of
Sam Knott…
